An hour blew my head yesterday! Far more fun from a decent station!
Thanks! I nearly bought one the other day so will hit the order button later
Thanks I’ll get one to try!
What’s the Bofunk like?
Then there’s all the plastic tat everybody buys too.
Surprised by the number of stations in CQWW who don't seem to be making full use of the check window/SCP!
ER4A is running amusing voice macros in CQWW - well worth having a listen for as sounds very polite but not sure it's rate busting! :D
Steve should have it sorted in time for the start of the contest 🤣
Holy cow! So many questions!
Cool - hope you have fun! Will have a listen for you if I have chance and can find a mic!
Brilliant 🤣https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/23/german-firm-campaign-lift-louvre-heist-bocker
Excellent! Hope you’ve signed him up for CQWW SSB!
What callsigns will you be using?
Floppy hats = eminent 😉
Indeed! It may well have been on 40m when Chris had the 4 ele long spaced yagi on 40m @120ft!
Once had a fantastic rag chew with a station in Galapagos from Chris, G0DWV‘s station. Was probably the afternoon before CQWW when we were getting ready to op as G4ANT.
Very nice! I now have dining room envy!
Ah, yes, frequency drift too! i bought an FT290 - a bit of retro fun, and complete with the wonderful, end stop or nothing, meter!
Yep, and limited computer control too. It’s when you key up and hear the beast humming loudly - a little disconcerting 🤣
Also bought a couple of old 1990s SWL radios that I would have loved as a skint, teenage, SWL. They really aren’t as good as new kit, but are nostalgic - AKA a bit 💩and take up valuable space in the shack 🤣
I had a second hand TS790 for 2:70. Lovely rig and was as cheap as chips to buy. Fantastic RX - but it was a big old thing and I‘m not sure it would have survived running datamodes.
Currently playing spot the stuff hosted on AWS!
