They forgot a Google+ icon.

"SOME of them are built so that the front doesn’t fall off AT ALL."

It's that mixture of awe and maybe just a millisecond of jealousy.
But hey, it's a stellar line.

Been a big Cory fan for some time. His YA books are great.

If you haven't already read her memoir, it's spectacular.

They could have done the decent thing and waited till I finally scored one. 🏆❌

30 years this week since a bunch of us 'pesky kids' returned for Hitz FM Melbourne's 6th broadcast.

Big tracks in September 1995 included Wrap me Up, Stayin Alive (N Trance), 3 is Family, Lost in Love, Mysterious Girl, Loops n Tings, Push the Feeling On & Let’s Groove (CDB).
Awesome music, a new CD and you can HEAR the first 30 minutes!
Hitz FM's 6th broadcast in September 1995 was short, yet action-packed. Check out the streamable recording of the first 30 minutes.

Oh yes my Melbourne relatives keep suggesting that to me. 😀

Thanks for the vids, will check them out. Didn't know you were a pinhead amongst all the PC/gadget stuff.
gabemcgrath.bsky.social
No worries, I'll catch them the next time I'm there. Last year I got to visit the German pinball museum... memories from there will keep me going for a while. 😀

Thanks again for the video.

Oh, I was going to ask @alexkidman.bsky.social - did they have custom/DIY pins there?

They're always fascinating.

One year there was a 'Flying High' one complete with a small screen on the playfield to play famous clips during the game.
gabemcgrath.bsky.social
Looks fantastic, Alex.
I would kill for a go of Abba! A year ago I got to play the Elton John pin - similarly colourful - and it was superb.

Pinfest is great.
I'm a local, but haven't been for a couple of years as I'm keeping it as a reward when my book is done.

Yes, RSS is the best.

I mourned the death of iGoogle ("make your own homepage")
and then Netvibes...
and now I'm on "Start.Me". ( <-- that's the URL)

Seeing 'all the stuff I want' in one screen is brilliant.

Your one's funnier Matt, but I had a go...
Television script:

[Extreme closeup]

Paul Robinson stares into the distance.
He's thinking back over a lifetime of adventures in Erinsborough's most famous cul-de-sac.
He smiles to himself as he thinks of the good times.

[Camera tracks back, revealing he's sitting in a departure gate. ]

[PA announcer] "Final call, Mr Robinson, flying Erinsborough to the Gold Coast..."

[Paul] "Well, I guess I'm the last one."

[Paul walks down the aerobridge; fade to black]

This is brilliant.
If you're serious about it, it needs a name.

eg what AOC was doing in the States re a 'Green New Deal'.
gabemcgrath.bsky.social
Haha, nothing like an unexpected Star Blazers reference.

Well played, sir.
Well played.

We need to send them all a Retro Gamer™ subscription, stat.

And ban them from writing anything till they read the first 50 issues, at a minimum.

That's an awfully long time to sit through a terrible ad. If I've ever done a 60" here, I've made damn sure it's entertaining.
gabemcgrath.bsky.social
Give me a game like Theme Park/Rollercoaster Tycoon,
but based on Pissweak World from The Late Show.

Besides the ambulance-chasing, have you noticed radio ads in the U.S. are longer, than in Aus?

I've read they're mostly 60sec, rather than 30.

I bumped into "radio" Peter a few times at (then) KOFM in Newcastle. A genuinely decent fellow.

If I'd known back then, his influential support of radio comedy, I would have thanked him. He is missed.

Hi Tony, just checked the Wayback Machine for you...

Looks like the Harvey/Harvie confusion might have originated 10 years ago. Main text correct, headline not so much.

Screenshot from the Wayback Machine of the Australian Radio Hall of Fame in 2014.

Text refererences Peter Harvie but the headline refers to Peter Harvey.

Magnificent. 🤌

I don't know if my Lot's Wife work /quite/ scales the same heights, but I'll go searching tonight.

PS I went to school *next to* Wobbies and I'm sure that had some sort of effect.

Pics or it didn't happen.
