🦇 Most UK bat species evolved to use trees as roosts, while many also hunt in woodland.

Explore how bats use and rely on woodlands and trees in our 'Bats and woodland' pages: www.bats.org.uk/our-work/lan...

Some rubbish weather has come along at a bad time for young 🦇🦇🦇 trying to bulk up for hibernation.
Speakers up to listen to this grateful-not-grateful hungry little Myotis mystacinus. He is, though, very gorgeous. 🥰🦇

Feeding cat-attacked bat. Loosely wrapped, its snatching mealies & drinking water. Do it with no 2nd thought.

Then it hits me. It's a tiny vulnerable wild creature. Not scared, still feisty, behaving as it should. But srsly just accepting my help. It's a special thing we do. #lovebats #batcare 🥰 🦇

Really interesting talk from Emily Hill - talking about the abundance and structure of Type-C social calls at a soprano pipistrelle maternity roost as juveniles become more independent. #NatBatConf @batconservation.bsky.social

And for the 49th time this year I'm heard to whisper "how gorgeous are you?"

And for the 49th time, I am correct

A very lucky daubentons bat. Found by a cat but spotted by the owner before cat could do any damage. Beautifully healthy, will be released tonight by the river near the house where found. 🦇 #lovebats #batcare

We've been granted a permissions hearing at the High Court for our legal challenge against Angela Raynor's assertion that the Planning & Infrastructure Bill 'will not reduce environmental protections', which we say was both untrue & unlawful.

July bat care (UK) in emojis
🐈🦇😔

It's taking it's toll. Please consider keeping your cat in at night, just this month. #lovebats #batcare

He doesn't need care, he needs a rest and a lesson in "roosting for grown up bats" 😀🦇

"It's hanging in quite a vulnerable position....
but it's absolutely beautiful"

Right on both counts 🥰🦇

What a little stunner. Juvenile female common pipistrelle, turned left instead of right last night and ended up in a school gym. She'll be back home tomorrow. #lovebats #batcare
Note: all bats are stunning, but especially the one I've got at the moment (any moment) ☺️🦇

Just over two weeks of wing healing in a pipistrelle bat. She went through the wars, not just the wing damage, but she's passed her flight test and is going home this week. 🦇🥰

Oh and not to boast but I took all these photos with the bat in one hand and camera in the other. 🦇😁
