Senator Ruben Gallego
@gallego.senate.gov
U.S. Senator for Arizona.
Husband. Dad. Veteran.
All Scott Bessent does is kiss Trump's ass and screw over American taxpayers.

It's simple. The Trump Administration is plundering U.S. taxpayer dollars.

Savings don't count if families never see them.

I'm working on drug pricing reform that delivers real savings—fast.

Met with the Mayor of Benson and the Southern AZ Chamber of Commerce to talk about how current immigration policies are impacting workers, businesses, and families across southern Arizona. Real reform means stronger communities, a healthier economy, and dignity for the people who power it.

Black History Month is a reminder that progress only happens when people refuse to accept injustice as normal. We honor that legacy by continuing that work today and every day.

We know what happens when law enforcement is empowered to target people for the color of their skin. Arizona has seen it before. If ICE isn’t brought under control, we’ll see it again.

Just joined the Don Lemon show live from the Capitol to stand with him and every journalist putting themselves on the front lines.

This is not normal. In America, we don’t arrest journalists for telling the truth.

I’m voting NO.

I will not give ICE one more dime without real, meaningful reform on paper. Two American citizens were killed at point blank in less than one month because ICE was given a slush fund and a blank check to act without accountability. I won’t fund Trump’s private military.

I was just talking to Don Lemon on Monday. He’s doing what journalists are supposed to do: asking questions and speaking truth. In the past week this Administration has now blown through the First, Second, and Fourth amendment in Minneapolis. We can't let this government trample over our rights.

This is personal for me. I wore the uniform. I know what real professionalism looks like. When leadership tells agents they’re untouchable, people get hurt and in Minnesota, people have died. That’s not law enforcement. That’s failure, and it demands accountability.

My office is aware of the Border Patrol-related shooting in Arivaca. We are seeking to get more information from our local, state, and federal partners.

Today we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and the millions of other victims of Nazi hatred. We must always fight antisemitism, hate, and bigotry wherever they appear. Never again means never again.

ICE has become a private military for Stephen Miller and Donald Trump. We need to completely clean house and rebuild from the bottom.
January 26, 2026 at 10:49 PM
When the Vice President tells law enforcement they’re above the law, people die. A U.S. citizen was killed in cold blood and the message from the White House is clear: zero consequences. This won’t stop without accountability.

He said they’d go after the “worst of the worst.”
Lower grocery costs on day one.
Release the Epstein files.
End forever wars.

Promises made. Promises broken.

Breaking into homes without warrants. Racial profiling. Arresting American citizens. ICE is no longer enforcing the law. They’re breaking it. I will not vote to give this goon squad more taxpayer money to terrorize our communities.

Maryland gets it. Your personal data isn’t a weapon to make you pay more. My federal ban on surveillance pricing would make this illegal nationwide. Time to protect every American from being exploited.

One year into the Senate, I heard the same thing over and over: it has been a hard year for our country and our community.

But everywhere I go, I still see good people who love their families, love this country, and want to do the right thing. That goodness is worth fighting for.

One year ago, I was sworn in as Arizona’s first Latino Senator. Today, I returned to American Legion Post 65, where we celebrated our 2024 win. A lot has come our way since then, but with you by my side, I know we’ll keep fighting for a better America.

Phoenix and Mesa came out strong for MLK Day! Grateful for these friends and this community.

Honored to march with our communities in Phoenix and Mesa for MLK Day. Dr. King’s dream lives on in the people who keep showing up and pushing us forward.

MLK told us that injustice anywhere threatens justice everywhere. That’s still true today and it’s why we can’t look away or back down. The fight for equal rights and justice didn’t end with him and neither did our responsibility to carry it forward.
