My favorite video game of 2025 was actually released in 2024. I discovered it at the very end of last year and ended up playing it through almost all of January. Clever, challenging, and very trippy - Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is amazing. 🤩 And it’s currently 40% off on Steam.

27 years ago today, my tax ID application was approved – a small step that allowed me to start my first job in the video game industry. 🕹️ Back then, I didn’t even think of it as an “industry”. A lot has changed since then, including the media landscape, where I originally began.

I played Demonschool at PAX East a few years ago and was mesmerized back then. I’m so glad it’s finally out, and sitting in my library now. 🤩 Looks like it’s gonna be a great Steam Deck experience.

I’m having so much fun with Lumines Arise this Sunday. 🤩 The way it blends puzzle gameplay with audio-visual magic is remarkable, a true trademark of the series. Arise also reminded me that the OG game is on Steam too – ICYMI, it is 70% off right now, which is an absolute steal.

Seeing the newly announced Steam Machine looking essentially like a black box makes me wonder if we’ve come full circle back to 2007, when Valve was working on Half-Life 2: Black Box. Did they cancel that software ages ago to make room for future hardware? 🙃
