Game Goblin is here to talk about and share all the cool things about video games and Magic: The Gathering.
Fallout 4 turns 10 today, and while I never cared for the basebuilding aspect, I do still love a big open world game where I get explore at my own leisure and find a bunch of goodies, quests, and NPCs.

What's your take on Fallout 4?
Mine? Better than New Vegas, 100%.

About to start a long late retro gaming night with a buddy starring the Sega Genesis!

Good time to take an updated Genesis collection shot! What would you add to it?

With two months of the year left, what are some Game Of The Year contenders you still haven't played?

For me it's Expedition 33, so I've decided to actually pivot my backlog to focus on getting this done to see where it lands at years end.

Top 4 Friday: Compilations!

Sometimes it nice to get one big game, and sometimes it's better to get a bunch of great games instead. These help keep older games playable on modern platforms, too!

Steelbooks are DOOM: Classics Collection, and Castlevania: Anniversary Collection.

Plushies. They somehow find their way into every collection if it gets big enough. I've amassed a handful over the years, like Heracross and Hawlucha here representing Pokemon.

What are some plushies you have in your collection?
November 7, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Been awhile since I've showcased my Series X collection.

Sitting at 78 games, who needs Game Pass? Not I! If Microsoft wants more of my money, they should print more physical gamees. Still waiting for Avowed, Oblivion, DOOM: The Dark Ages, etc.

Print the game on disc, I buy it.

Magic Monday: Inalla, ETB Master

The first PreCon I ever bought back in 2017. Never was a fan of Wizards, but doubling up on Enter The Battlefield effects, pretty hard to deny that. Turns out when you pay 1 mana to double an ability, Wizards become fun!

As the weekend comes to a close, what did you play on your time off?

I am just about to start the Final Fantasy Tactics remaster, and lose easily 100+ hours in it. So while I was a little busy this weekend not gaming, this is what I'm at least starting for this week.

New month, new pick ups post!

Not a whole lot, but the big things are the the new Final Fantasy Tactics remake (which I'll lose 100+ hours in), and finally owning Balloon Fight, complete in box.

What goods did you gobs get for October?

Top 4 Friday: Games To Play On Halloween!

Whether it's for the scares or just the vibes, these are all must-play games to celebrate all that is spooky if you ask me.

What are your "Must play" games for Halloween?
October 31, 2025 at 8:08 PM
It's Devil's Night tonight, no better time to celebrate all that is spooky than with Super Castlevania IV!

Medusa, Frankenstein's monster, The Mummy, Death, and of course Dracula himself. Hard to top that rogues gallery for getting into the Halloween spirit!

Spooky game #14

Resident Evil has always been a mainstay in the spooky genre, but honestly never found them scary. Garbage tank controls always ruined the suspense.

Then we have Revelations, finally fixing every problem the series has had. Now the tension is real! And in 3D!

Spooky game #13: ZombiU!

Going around with no weapons in a zombie-ridden London, scrounging for supplies, with death waiting for you around every corner?

Absolutely nerve-wracking, especially because the game doesn't pause when you open the menu either.
October 29, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Spooky Deck #4: Reach Out And Touch, Phage!

My scariest deck. One touch, and you're dead. One misplay, and I'm dead! Whoever dies to her touch has their soul eternalized in The Book Of Phage. 58 entries so far, will you be next?

Spooky game #12: Escape From Monster Manor

While at it's core, this game is just a DOOM clone, the horror campiness is why I love it. The enemies, music, levels, and especially the sound effects, they're all so dumb and goofy.

So if you love satire and DOOM, look into this.
October 27, 2025 at 2:39 AM
Can't have an October go by without talking about Splatterhouse!

Enter a haunted manor, evil steals your girl, maims you, leaves you for dead. You find a mask as you're bleeding out, put it on, and mutate into a powerhouse who is gonna kill everything and save your girl.

Top 4 Friday: Games Of 2019!

Now this was a special year. MediEvil finally getting some love, Ion Fury and Bloodstained bringing back their genres to the roots, and some good ol' Borderlands. Even if Brolands 3 was weak in setting, the RPG and FPS blending of genres never fails.

Spooky game #10

Deadly Premonition is something special, let me tell ya. It's awkward but charming. Slow-paced, but quick-witted. Technically broken, but crafted beautifully.

There wasn't nothing like it before, and hasn't been since. This game is a must for any horror fans.

On this day back in 2001, the concept of what an open-world game was changed forever when Grand Theft Auto III hit the PS2, catapulting the franchise into the living room of every household.

As revolutionary as this game is, it's crazy how they evolved it further with 2 sequels.

Today's a big day. It's not often I acquire a holy grail for the hoard. After a decade of looking, I finally found a complete copy of my favourite NES game in the right condition, for the right price, at the right time.

Check my FB for a longer explanation on this importance.

Spooky deck #3: Odd Burn Obosh!

Nothing more horrifying than counting my board, thinking that you're safe from being within lethal range, than all of a sudden you're taking a Lightning Bolt to the face for 96 damage.

No one is safe with Obosh.

The Wii is normally seen as the family-friendly console, but deep within it's library, you'll find some pretty great horror games.

Today's pick is Cursed Mountain, a slow burn of a survival horror that has always stuck with me. It's weird, and a bit jank, but then it all clicks.
October 19, 2025 at 4:07 PM
The original NES turns 40 today! FOUR DECADES!

It's still a timeless, iconic console, and with it being October, here's my selection of games perfect for the spooky season. Castlevania being the gold standard, of course, but do NOT sleep on Gargoyle's Quest 2!

Top 4 Friday: Games Of 2018

Not gonna lie, 2018 might be the worst year so far. I loved Astro Bot VR, and enjoyed Octopath quite a lot, but that's it. Kingdom Come, I never finished due to being locked in a terrible DLC by mistake, and I never finished Vampyr either. Rough year.
October 17, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Damn, as of 2 days ago, I've been playing Magic: The Gathering for 28 years. That's almost 3 decades!

I remember going into a comic shop to browse new releases, and seeing a bunch of older kids opening up all these cool cards up. The art drew me in. That was the Tempest release.
