🌱 A walk around the garden between the torrential rain of Storm Alice revealed a couple of unexpected surprises, mainly this stunning red Hibiscus which hasn't bloomed during the 3 & a bit years we've been here but has now decided to do so.

After two days of torrential rain (Valencia Region, Spain), sun is out & temps are back up. It means this one - Rayo - with his webbed paws, is back doing what he loves ; retrieving 2 balls from the pool (he's carrying both)

I attempted it a bit like your sister, but bonked at 82.1kms, literally couldn't ride any further. Lessons learnt. I'll train properly for it now & attempt again around Christmas

🌱 I can always rely on "Firespike" - Odontonema strictum- to put on a show at this time of year in my zone 10 something borders. It's an easy to propogate plant and it's leaves remind me of hydrangeas

for leisure cycling.

As a former "explosive" athlete - I was a Long Jumper back in the day - I still hate inclines. But that feeling when you just let the bike go on a descent ? Love it , love it, love it

Even though I've completed it, I'll carry on cycling for August & hope to have hit 600kms

I signed up to a UK based charity #cycling challenge BEFORE I realised that it was scheduled to take place in August meaning i'd have to complete it in the searing Spanish sun 🥵🌄🔥

After some modifications - cycling start times of 0730 mainly - yesterday I completed it🍾 & it's renewed my appetite

🌱 I'm so glad I persevered with these #Zinnias.
Despite us hitting a searing 40°+C in zone 10-something in Valencia Region , Spain, they're STILL flowering & thriving even. They DO get part shade during the day & i am watering them early in morn.

Can't wait to harvest their seeds in a month or so

🌱 Night Jasmine is starting to put out it's multiple hundreds & hundreds of tiny flowers. The heady fragrance these coming evenings will be sublime. Meanwhile the plumbago & butterfly bush have revitalised after end of week torrential rain
