This may be an unpopular take but Jim Maxwell is cooked and needs to hang up the mic. Sure, he has dulcet tones, but he's become increasingly irksome, biased and frankly embarrassing. His ABC shifts are unlistenable and the only course of action is to switch it off. #ashes

Perfect dictatorial conditions
Five corporations control 90% of the US media market.

Airlines merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today.

Four giants control 80% of meat processing.

A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry.

The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

Tim Wilson blamed Albanese Govt spending for public sector wages rising faster than the private sector. Only problem - 96% of the increase was from state and local govt employees:

Imagine if we taxed the gas industry and pant more on R&D…crazy talk … #cliamte

CSIRO 350 job cuts a damning indictment on Government priorities, misses 'golden opportunity' on research
The announcement this week that CSIRO are to cut 350 research jobs is another damning indictment on Australia’s ongoing failure to prioritise research and development.

It's high time for the party of Gough to step the fuck up and start building. #auspol
Governments used to build places for people to live in.

Housing used to be affordable.

A reminder - governments *can* do things.
A progressive government *should* do things.
A better country is possible.
Governments *choose* what they do (or do not do).

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
