Host of Saturday Night SEGA on RadioSEGA, Summer of Sonic DJ, and half-decent Twitch streamer.
I own over 1000 movies (probably closer to 1500 but honestly, I'm not going to count them to find out), and I agree with this wholeheartedly.

I love streaming services for their convenience, but if I watch a film on them that I enjoyed I will hunt a copy down so I can keep it.
If there are movies you love and you don’t want to lose access to them then buy yourself a nice version of them on blu-ray or dvd or whatever and hold onto them. You shouldn’t lose ownership of the things you love because some corporation has decided you own a “license” to it.

I might do the random game Saturday thing as a thread next year, but either do it with:

1. All Final Fantasy games, or
2. Games I own but have never played

Preference? 😂

Netflix buying WBD, and all of their associated IP, is absolutely wild, purely because of the stuff that's now going to be under their belt...including THAT one.

Makes you wonder if they'll do what WB were scared to do and do a Disney, pulling the IP rug out from under its creator...

All stuff in town sorted out, looking at a 10am start for Silksong.

Hope you're able to join me, would be nice to have a chat whilst I repeatedly die XD

Well.

That AI post is blowing up 😅 Don't think I've seen a post of mine doing that well since the Amiibo video on Twitter back in the day.
December 4, 2025 at 12:12 PM
Using AI for captions is such a weird idea because...OK, fine, it's "quicker", but you'd still need an actual person to check that the translation is accurate, right?

So..if you're doing that, then surely the person checking the accuracy should just, I don't know, do the captioning?

Crazy.
This insane bit, from the dub of Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus ep 10

The line is actually "I'm enraptured."

Forewarning now, but stream tomorrow will likely be a 9:30-10:00 start. There's a couple of bits I need to get in town and I'm more likely to be bothered to do that in the morning, lol

Nice tech delivery today of a Nintendo Alarmo for Alexis as a Xmas present, and an Astro City Mini V for me...for my birthday. In August 😅

Happy I've got one at least, I've been after one for a couple of years now!

Finished the Claptastic Voyage DLC for Borderlands Pre-Sequel last night and..wow. I know a lot of Borderlands bosses have a tendency to be bullet sponges but the last four or five on that one are amongst the worst I've encountered.

Oh well. It's done now, I can start the third game.

We've always got the radio on at work where they're like "you could win this much money" and I always mentally spend it for a laugh but never enter.

Except for today. Today I've decided to have a bit of a gamble and go for it.

Won't win - the odds aren't ever in my favour - but oo, what if...

The cold has gone, the cough has stuck around, but that's not going to stop us from more Silksong in about 10 mins.

Hopefully we can get past the halfway mark and make some inroads towards the end, as there's only 2 more weeks after this before we do the Grinch stream
November 28, 2025 at 8:59 AM
Tried playing Ori & the Will of the Wisps yesterday, and it's been that long since I last played it that I have no idea what any of my moves do - I'm probably best off restarting it lol.

Game says I'm 19% complete so I won't lose that much progress, I don't think.

If there ever was an argument that Xbox 360 is/isn't a retro console, it's 20 years old today so it is now (and it's on the cover of @retrogamermag.bsky.social, so they'd know!)

Fond memories of spending most of my GAME wages, which were fortnightly back then, on one without a hard drive.

Fair warning that there might not be a SNS tonight. We've had a slight wrinkle in our flight plans for Paris next year that we need to work through and, depending on how long that takes, I might not have time to set up for it.

We'll see - I'll keep you all posted.

Had a whirl on CloverPit after the Silksong stream.

I'm usually not a fan of describing a game as "This is X, but Y", but it is essentially Balatro, but slot machines instead of poker.

Don't know if it'll have the addictiveness that Balatro does, but it's fun so far.

Want to hear something a little different this morning?

Then tune into me streaming Silksong this morning - I've had a cold all week and I sound husky 😅

Side effects include spontaneous coughing and sneezing. It's gonna be fun!

See you soon!
November 21, 2025 at 8:56 AM
So.

I was watching Season 4 of Upload on Prime earlier (it's only 4 episodes long, so hardly a season but nevermind), and whilst browsing discovered that they have the Legend of Zelda cartoon!

That's getting a watch one day soon.

The only AI I will accept in video games is actual AI for enemies.

If you use machine learning AI so I have to keep changing strategies against an enemy, that sounds cool. If you use it to create slop or to not pay artists/VAs, then that's awful and you can get in the bin.

Shroud has accused The Game Awards of being “rigged” following its Game of The Year Arc Raiders snub, saying "the world is just not ready for AI in video games." https://bit.ly/488djGQ

You have to love the scammers sending a scam email saying there was an issue with a recent vehicle tax attempt to somebody who doesn't even own one.

I don't even own a bicycle but yeah, sure, I'll click the dodgy link just in case...

Idiots.

Star Wars Celebration opened up their merch shop for left over Japan stuff today.

£85 postage for two t-shirts and a plush, so that got a very kind "fuck right off" and a closed tab.

We could talk about the Geoffs, and how ultimately bullshit they are, OR we could spend time listening to a new version of BFS' best song.
Big surprise for #SonicUnleashed fans! 🐺

17 years later, Bowling for Soup and Punk Rock Factory have just released a BRAND NEW version of Endless Possibilites! This version is noticeably heavier than the original 👀

Check it out below!

We are doing Silksong today, I've just got some stuff to sort beforehand. It's Alexis' birthday today and she needs a balloon 🤣
November 14, 2025 at 9:08 AM
Talos Principle II being added to PS+ is definitely a reason to keep streaming in the New Year, even if that's the only game I end up doing lol.
November 12, 2025 at 11:16 PM
Amazon are a global company, that actually sell PAW Patrol products.

Did they really need to use AI to promote this?
November 12, 2025 at 8:49 PM
I'll link it later so other people can either agree with me or tell me I'm going mental, but I swear Sabrina Carpenter's new single has a vocal hook that sounds a LOT like a Sonic level theme.

I've heard it a couple of times on the radio at work and just one little bit reminds me of Sonic.
