A trilogy of crime thrillers from an untold era - Far North Queensland, Australia in the 70s & 80s. Enter a world of epic natural beauty, wild times, raw action, and some very dirty history.

New tropical mayhem and beauty from the crime thriller series. This one's from 1974, and set on Australia's biggest island national park, where I lived for nearly a year. Some things in the story happened for real.

Nice. A beaucoup cool band.

I concur. Reckon only Barton Fink comes close. The sly machinations, and Albert Finney and Gabriel Byrne's performances are sublime.

Horror is not my bag at all, but I watched it with a mate, and wow - it's brilliant film.

The Great (2020-23) fucks and kills with gusto and humour. Written by Tony McNamara who co-wrote The Favourite. The Libertine (2005) is real good too

Wonderful! So bright and cheerfully terrifying. Getting J.G. Ballard vibes.

A beautifully nuanced mix of fragility and solidity. Love this one.

Elijah Fox, Alpha Mist, Rocco Palladino, Malik Venna, Tom Misch amongst others. Check out Mr. Dayes' wonderful performance videos on YouTube esp. the Japanese doco, if you haven't already.

Well this is cool Chris. I was having a look to see if Youssef Dayes was on Bluesky and I Dee this. Youssef Dayes is indeed sublime. He works with many great players, too:

I've not read Sam Fuller. It looks good. Johnny Rossellini bio is as wild as you'd hope it would be. I've actually read the Mitchum bio 3 times now. It's so much fun. A bit sad Lee Server has gone.

Have not seen this yet, but I liked Peter Capaldi's Oscar winning film, Franz Kafka's It's A Wonderful Life, a little gem of absurdist whimsey with, of course, Richard E Grant as Kafka.
I am not a bot.

I loved it. Your adjectives are right on the money. His Ava Gardner biography is also as good.

Mr. O is a great stylist and Billy the Kid is a doozy. Just getting set for your Crowbar gig. 😃

Love Chameleon Street, what a mind fuck it is. Suburra was an intense and nasty read. the film did it justice.
