fun fact: China just instituted a range floor for PHEV models sold.

If a PHEV can‘t get 100 km (62 miles) on electric power, then it doesn't qualify for tax subsidies.

China Set To Add 62-Mile Minimums For PHEV Range

Honest to god, I'd just get a used one and call it a day. The upgraded battery and charging ability is nice to see, but most people who drive EVs likely don't DC fast charge that much.

If Chevy was a Chinese brand, these changes would have been implemented in 2018, 12 months after introduction.

Kind of losing my mind at the praise for it, tbh.

So, the Lucid Gravity has key issues and I had several moments where the keys straight up didn’t work. The worst one leaving me unable to drive the car for around 40 minutes.

Give it a read, at @insideevs.com

To be fair, you can get an Elantra Hybrid, which has an evolved version of the old Ioniq's powertrain.

it's so weird to see brands renege and pivot back toward ICE cars, but from what I'm seeing from their ICE efforts, IDK if they knew how to make those either

gaytonausa.bsky.social
Absolutely not.

The 500L is likable and nice to drive. There’s no redeeming qualities about the VF8.

I had one about three years ago right before my Abarth! Got it for $2,000 with a no crank no start. The ground to the starter disintegrated.

I get the gist that the USA and Canada was the only region that liked or bought the soul.
dennieedwards.bsky.social
The Soul has the most character of anything in the Kia lineup. It didn't help that they never afforded it a hybrid spec.

low key looking for a 500L for the winter

Unclear if we will get this car. In most markets the Seltos took up the slack.

It’s been superseded by the EV3

EV had limited range though. And we didn’t get the latest Soul EV in the USA.

it was easy to get in and out of, was well packaged and spacious without being overly big, while being cheap to buy.

gaytonausa.bsky.social
