Their Dad was a Labour councillor for years and would turn in his grave if they’d tried to dodge paying all the tax on it as it’s the right thing to do. I doubt they’ll see any money until late next year anyway.

That’s to prevent you undervaluing the property and assets and pulling s fast one so they have to be independently valued or you could sell the property to yourself for far less than it’s market value.

My wife and her sisters have just had to pay over £200k this year after their father died from his assets and they really don’t give a fuck about it as that’s the deal.
