I suddenly feel about 8yo.
This will be one to watch. Yet another example of not quite fit for purpose governance in the tertiary sector.

TEQSA is about academic comparability/recognition not the professions.

But did no-one @ UWS or Newcastle see this coming??

Politicians tend to wear some level of makeup if doing a lot of media. The bit that’s interesting is the need for a room. Surely Secretary or Executive offices come with a bathroom?

🍐This beautiful pear-shaped porcelain bottle from Japan is covered in a distinctive green flambé glaze.

It was made by Ishiguro Kōkō of the Sumida Pottery in Tokyo, named after the nearby Sumida River.
A pear-shaped Japanese bottle with a vibrant and highly reflective green glaze. There are also hints of yellow and blue
It’s a far from perfect petition, but banking licence holders do need to have obligations to provide universal access to services.
OMG. Maybe he actually does think that. I thought I was beyond being surprised by his apparent ignorance.
You know the key fruit vs are going to win, I hope 🙂
Probably even goes back to the Brits
This debate has been had before- to little effect- but with all the challenges the sector faces, it’s a good time for renewed discussion. #education. #auspol

THIS!
‘Australia’s higher education market is saturated with prestige-driven narratives that often alienate…potential students from regional, first-in-family, neurodiverse, mature-age and non-traditional backgrounds. It is time for change.’ theconversation.com/bill-shorten...
Bill Shorten ‘re-imagines universities’, with specialist institutions and bespoke degrees
University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor Bill Shorten has called for a “fundamental re-imagining” of Australia’s universities

Surely something could be said about the sector plans. Do I really have to spend a few hours reading to get any idea? A journalism fail here #abcaustralia: where was the line of questioning on what these plans contain if not planned outcomes?
Anyone can understand the desire avoid gotcha moments and scare campaign fodder. But it’s hard to see how the extended avoidance from @chrisbowenmp.bsky.social this morning can build confidence. Most of us probably want to hear realistic if qualified plans, despite journalistic tactics. #auspol
Slightly obsessed are you? It’s about 7 weeks away!
There is a reasonable mint of PNG reporting. I’m more frustrated at the dearth of Indonesian coverage (except for holiday maker issues and drug crime)
I rarely agree with him but at least- unlike this post- what he says consists of more than vitriol. And how are his clothes relevant to anything? Seems like some sort of perverse sexism or ageism to be throwing that around.
It takes a certain kind of hubris to choose to ignore safety practices developed from experience over generations. There’s a century of experience in road, rail and air. So there were plenty of design approaches to consider.
That is quite the lovely variety
But ignoring that, I don’t think you can pursue an argument on impact without overly considering the cost going slow. It states to look a bit like an apologia for those being selfish
Well a provocation is always welcome. The discussion in part 2 is stronger I think. Part one really seems to be focused on the inconvenience and loss of investment. When of course much of that investment in the last 20 years or so was blinkered and poorly considered.
