One of the features of overlapping editing is that it is often combined with other techniques. The overlapping editing that ends the extended pursuit sequence in H.B. Halicki's Gone in 60 Seconds (1974) includes slow motion, a freeze-frame, dissolves, changes in camera setup, and repetition.
