I just did a super job smoothing out the backgrounds of JWST's crazy ass mosaic barf and now I will attempt to magically remove the very unfortunate diffraction spikes. I am very skeptical that this will work.

insomnia thought for the night: years ago, making my stand for saturn that no, you can’t make a saturn puzzle without the rings. you can’t! turns out the way puzzles are made requires an expensive metal die cut thing and they wanted to reuse the same circle from the other planets.
