Really thrilled to have uploaded a game to the internet for the first time!

Peace Simulator is my submission for this year's (Ennie Award winning) One-Page RPG Jam.

Here's how you remove Google AI from your mobile devices.

...

Instead of being in settings its in the google app. Also, google, not chrome. Icon is a G, not the circle thing. Click on your pfp to open a menu

From there, go Settings > Gemini > Digital Assistants > Switch to Google Assistant. This disables Gemini, google's Al assistant, and switches you back to the old one. We aren't done yet.

Go back to Settings. From there, we go Settings > Google Assistant > scroll to find General > Google Assitant on/off > turn it off

They really tried their best to make it a pain, but you can eventually disable it. Holding the power button on your phone still pulls up a menu and asks you to turn it back on, but this is the least intrusive you can make it.

Applies to all non-apple phones afaik. For sure Samsungs and Pixels but idrk about others

Edit: thank you my friend @/teeth-kid for confirming that this also works on Motorola

Hey! I wrote a review for the cool old video game Umihara Kawase Shun for a local zine.

Check out the whole zine here: indyindies.itch.io/indy-indies-...
The image shares the page of the zine review for Umihara Kawase Shun with a few gameplay images. The text of the review is:

In Umihara Kawase Shun, large vegetables pepper the sparse, cubic landscape as you slingshot around blown-out photographs of oceanfronts and expand your special awareness. This precision platformer complements difficulty with serenity, providing a rare bittersweet dream. The goal is a door. It doesn't matter which one. They all lead somewhere.

Is this what it feels like to be a seasoned lucid dreamer, to be able to put forth a focus and intentional effort in such pleasant and surreal surroundings? Or maybe this is what it would feel like to spend all day working at a job you love unconditionally? Or to do parkour while keeping your heart rate below 90 beats per minute? The music sounds like riding a bike at sunset as you reel in the fish-people and stuff them inside of your backpack, perhaps with the false hope that you could display them as evidence as you arrive back in our waking world.

This stimulating spa treatment was the second game of a trilogy. Originally released in 1997 on Playstation in Japan, it was eventually brought to Steam, delisted and then relisted. Study it closely for its ability to be therapeutic, engaging, straightforward and profoundly weird all at once.

A tornado was within a two minute drive of the kids and I last night. Glad everyone is okay.

You should've gone for the full album. All bangers.
At the very least, you'd get to experience their song "My Console"

Do you know if there will be a way to absorb information from it for folks who didn't attend? I'm really curious about it!

Currently filling out the FAFSA form which includes the mandatory question of what's the student's sex, male or female, with the information button leading to this 404.
It does state that the question is used for research purposes only, but the let record state that I prefer not to answer.

These are both really, really good games that I probably sold to pay for rent at some point as a young adult.

Sometimes it's soothing and grounding to read research articles that are related to things I go through [moreso healthcare but in an education setting.] It's easy to feel like you're going through it alone, but the results are in, and everyone else is too.

I've be struggling to comprehend how the sweeping disruptions to federal programs and mountain of executive orders is having a real-time effect on people here in Indianapolis.

So I'm starting this thread to keep track of stories documenting the impact.

Let's go.

A lot of evil and stupidity emanating from the new administration. Terms like biodiversity and tree equity were likely flagged by the algorithm. It's really dangerous to just do what an algorithm says and not check your work!
