The ́literal "WW2 in Space" work, Mobile Suit Gundam, has the mass produced GM be a more transformative piece of the war effort than the titular suit. Even in their "what if Nazis won with better tech" alt timeline, Zeon just adopts all of the technical improvements of the Gundam for mass production.

Because the superior technology was so good it couldn't be produced enough to win the war! Standardization and interoperability is helluva bigger acheivement than 'overdized tank made of a thousand bespoke parts of which 500 can no longer be produced because the allies bombed the factories'.

My most crank opinion is there should be an absolute wealth cap (above assets and income are taxed 100%) of 100,000,000 dollars. Idk what you'd do to make up for it. Give everyone a ticking tracker that gives them a free Get Out of Jail Free card for every 100 mil they're taxed over ́lifetime.
