I'm quite naive on the question and on the LP - MP Transition, I read some articles, but in some cases it's very hard to trace a line, personally. I agree with you that a core is something primarily used to detach blanks and the occasional use of knapping waste isn't debitage in strict sense

I wonder if this could be related to a core/tool concept by hominins vs. only tool in modern knappers
