The last of my beers from @8sailbrewery.bsky.social , and I can't recommend the brewery enough. Every beer has been top quality, blending innovation with tradition and serving it in a pint bottle.
"Golden Dawn" English Pale is decent up front, closing with playful blackcurrant for the win.

Did my first ever Parkrun today. I wasn't particularly aiming for a time, although I hoped to get under 30 minutes. My latent misanthropy made overtaking essential, so I ended up getting faster as I went along. With some effort I think I can take 5 minutes off this.

An old-school "Victorian Porter" deserves an old-school glass. Another great beer from @8sailbrewery.bsky.social , who seem to relish in crafting a range of both traditional and contemporary beers. Roasted coffee flavours dominate, and it's yet another winner from the team at 8 Sail.

"Ouroboros" double IPA next, from @thornbridge.bsky.social . Weighing in at 8.4%, it's obviously a different beast to my last drink. Tropical and piney, with a thick-cut marmalade finish. Excellent.

As I've run at the beers so far, I'm having an AF "Green Mountain" from @thornbridge.bsky.social to save me peaking too early. This is such a great beer in its own right, and a wonderful reminder of how far brewers have come on the AF journey.

A new one for me from @thornbridge.bsky.social , although I've seen it for a while. "4th Rifles" pale. One of their collabs with a restaurant chain, I guess I'd describe it as a dialled down Jaipur. Would be ideal with spicy food.

I'm like a broken record, but this is another beauty from @8sailbrewery.bsky.social . It's all about the hops- a bit of peach up front, with citrus peel to finish. "Greenman" fresh hop pale ale, an absolute cracker.

A very rare evening out with Mrs P. Six course winter game tasting menu, with matching wine and/or whisky at Lambard's in Harwich. The menu doesn't give much away- e.g. the partridge was in a rose petal harissa and served with Jerusalem artichoke and baby fennel. Fantastic food and restaurant.

For #Stouturday I'm revisiting Vault City's "Gingerbread Latte Imperial Stout". I bought 4 cans of this about a year ago for under £2 each. It's definitely improved with age, allowing the real Vault City genius to shine through. #BskyBeer

This is beautifully light and fresh, "Smash" (Harlequin) single malt and single hop pale from @8sailbrewery.bsky.social Incredible flavours. If you found this in a pub or a taproom you'd be blown away- and I've now got (yet another) favourite hop. #BskyBeer

No snow here this morning: just freezing temperatures, rock-hard ground, moonlight and the obligatory early start. A "feels like" of -8°c meant it was particularly hard going!

"Smoky Chimney" smoked porter from the wonderful @8sailbrewery.bsky.social , served with my homemade beef jerky (first batch in about 10 years- go air fryer!). Rich, smoky without being over-bearing. Another lovely brew. Go to Heckington, visit the windmill, buy the beer!

I'm back to work tomorrow (for one day only), so to ease the blow I'm tucking into "Old Colony" American East Coast pale from @8sailbrewery.bsky.social . I've had this before and am pleased to report it's still fantastic, with the cascade hops doing their thing.

I've not had the original (despite looking) so can't compare. Real sweetness on the nose with absolute pluminess to taste, both up front and following on. It's a decent and well-balanced beer, but not necessarily one that screams "port infused". From Titanic, "Plum Porter Grand Reserve". #BskyBeer
