I actually went and fact checked this because it didn't seem real to me but yeah, re5 genuinely has alternate stun animations. That is really bad, two different stuns can mean the same thing, and some of them are barely different from a non melee-able stun.

To re5's credit, menu reloading does feel very good. It does really help the pacing problems the melee otherwise causes. Also, making certain melee attacks orientation specific instead of enemy specific like re4 is a good idea. Having to choose between crowd control or high damage but to one enemy.

Like other RE games, most actions are done with one button, yet I have never had this much of an issue with it. I think because unlike every other game, this includes healing. It seems to prioritise actions over healing, so there are times where you want to heal and will instead jump out a window.

Re5 is less consistent overall, and its animations do not help. For instance, the stomp attack which is quite useful can be a bit of a pain because the majini have a few animations of them on the floor where you cannot stomp them. Sometimes they're still 'rolling' even though they're perfectly still

It is extremely clear which melee attack you're going to get in re4, it will either be the main kick or the other kick/suplex depending on whether you hit the ganado in the head or the leg. Every single time. This consistency is quite important I think, it is also telegraphed quite well!

As an example, what's with the 'hook' attack, which you get by hitting an enemy in the arm. It seems entirely useless, a weaker version of the regular 'straight' punch that serves no purpose other than to make stunning less clear. Unlike re4, which only has two melee attacks.

This is the first time I've played it with more of an open mind, if you're wondering why I'm talking like it's my first time. That is far from the case, it's just that I have always gone in knowing it was shit and that made me biased.

As I play more re5 I do start to understand what some people see in it. Though it still isn't very good. It feels like it hints at being a better game, that there are these moments where everything works perfectly and it starts to make a bit more sense, but then something just goes wrong.

All of my Re5 footage is in unbelievably low quality and I have genuinely no fuckin idea why it doesn't make any sense it is the exact same settings I have used for every other game, sure I've had issues but never have I had it look like the bitrate was set to the lowest possible number

I'm not sure how you could really fit video essay points into shorts to be fully honest, the genre kinda needs time and the context of what came before in the video, I have thought about short form stuff before but could never think of a way to make it work, y'know?

If the EU’s chat control somehow passes, I will genuinely have to quit the internet. I am currently operating as if everything is normal, but if the EU becomes a true mass surveillance dystopia I will just leave, no other choice, simply sending a message is too risky.

Been playing the PC version of re4 instead of GC because it's easier for me to capture footage that way. The controls and 60fps make it feel like a different game sometimes.

I am jealous of creators who have editors that edit their videos for them but I don't think it would work for my channel. Perhaps I'm just insecure but I don't think my voice is unique enough to stand out without the specific style of my videos. It kinda needs to be edited in a specific way.
