DISCLAIMER: I did not make MurderCake! I bought him at the Fred Meyer Snohomish, WA location. Some angel in their baking department made him! I will, however, love him forever. It was a joy to know you, MurderCake! 🥲❤️
Also can we get a version of Daphne du Maurier’s ‘Rebecca’, but it’s just me and Bronson Pinchot, and it’s real life and we’re in love, and I’m ok with hiding a murder from the past, as long as we get to throw a lot of really fancy parties? …I just think people would enjoy that... 😅😏

ANYWAY—
Bronson Pinchot gives the performance of a lifetime, and it’s spoiled by flying chestnuts with razor teeth? UGHH— 😩😭 I truly don’t like special effects updates, but he deserves justice. 😅 We’ve come so far, we have the ability… Just this once, for the greater good (a softer chant: the greater good)
Mr.gives
Me, for 25-27 years: “I hate when they go back and update the special effects in movies! Please, keep the originals just as they are!”

Also me, for 25-27 years: “…You can fix ‘The Langoliers’ tho 🥺👉🏻👈🏻…”
I AM ✨COVERED✨ IN CRUMBS I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS “BUTTERFINGERS DEBRIS”
LIKE, EASILY 10+ TIMES ALREADY.
Prepping early, I filled the giant plastic Jack-o-Lantern that I use to hand out candy. I put it in my studio, so my kids wouldn’t get into it before Halloween. And LET ME ASSURE YOU: IT WAS A REAL BAD IDEA.

GUESS WHO GOT INTO IT BEFORE HALLOWEEN.

THAT’S RIGHT, IT’S YOUR GIRL, ME.
PNW folks, I know this is an atmospheric river, but could it also be the start of…

✨ The Big Dark? ✨

I’m asked that question so often, and no… No, that will never be an issue. 😅❤️ However my mind is wired, I’m incredibly lucky to see these wonderful characters and their lives very fully. It’s less like making it up and more like watching through a doorway. And they’re always all up to something. ❤️
I have never once worried about running out of ideas; instead I live with the very real fear that I will run out of time and never tell all the stories I’ve got in here. It’s why I’m always writing, always drawing. I’ve been outrunning the clock since I was 12 or so, knowing I’ll never make it. 😂
If I could live 200 years (😅😂), I could maybe pour out half of what is churning in my head, because it’s not just Breaking Cat News. It’s book ideas scribbled in notebooks, the middle grader book I’ve been outlining for a year and a half, the stories Trevor’s Woman and I wrote in childhood…
If we had 36 hour days and 9 day weeks, I could write and draw you Winnifred Quinn’s whole life. I could create all of the retro broadcasts with Angus and Young Mouse reporting. I could skip ahead and show you everything Iggy, Beatrix, and Ora Zella will get up to…
“Do you ever worry you’ll run out of ideas?”

What upsets me more than anything, creatively, is that I could write entire daily comics about Our IX Lives, the Wildlands Creatures, Dr. Scuttles and his home, Home Style and Thimblefist’s adventures, all at once, if I only had the energy and the time.
I’ve failed so many picture captchas, that at this point I have to assume I’m a robot that my parents built.
Friend: “Do you have a long black cloak with a hood? Sorry if that’s a weird question, you just seem like you would—“
Me: “Yes, of course!”
@glennf.com Not sure if you would know this one, but thought I’d tag you due to your historical knowledge of textiles and processes… If you don’t, maybe you know who would?
I hope so too 🙏🏻❤️
…discussing issues together, checking in each with other, making jokes, sharing observations, finding a road ahead…

This is what they prepared for. We are the ones they imagined. And they armed us with their First Amendment.

(2/2)
This isn’t the end of the First Amendment; this is the moment our founding fathers wrote the First Amendment for. It was a lifeline in their absence, ensuring that when a troubled time arose generations later, we would be free to continue speaking up, asking hard questions…
