Most of the people at NaNo 2.0 were ML of a region, or people like me who just participated each year, with absolutely no role…. Other than bringing desert to write-ins sometimes.

Yes. In the old days, I participated in NaNoWriMo regions and both started their own November challenge after the scandals.

The NaNoWriMo organization is gone. But the community lives on and people just want to continue getting together and writing.

There is no “official NaNoWriMo” organization or website anymore. But dozens of groups & projects have been inspired to continue to NaNo spirit. NaNo 2.0 is one of many.

And while, NaNo 2.0 does include founder Chris Baty, it does not include any staff who were at the Nonprofit in its final years.

I adore the badges the @nano2point0.bsky.social team came up with. We have so many talented artists in the #NaNo2point0 team.
