First bit of modelling this holiday. M4 running gear cleaned up, 4 unused bolt holes drilled into the bogies and missing bolts added to the track skids. The hollow Tamiya rear idlers have been replaced with a pair of spare early style idlers from the, as yet, unbuilt Academy M36 #histscalemodels

It’s starting to look a bit like a M4. I’ve forgotten how quick these older Tamiya kits are to build….the aluminium barrel and resin mantlet were already in the stash but I’m still fighting the desire to get some better tracks…..#histscalemodels

Mrs B has gone to bed early, so progressing the Tamiya Sherman with a glass of red wine, Classic FM Movies on the radio and both cats asleep on the office armchair…this is quite relaxing, no PE, no tiny tiny bits of plastic…I could get used to this, after all the hobby is supposed to be relaxing….
My first ever tank model was the Hedgehog way back when it came out in the 1970’s as a young teenager and surprisingly my only M4 to date so, tired of tracks, tonight I’ve started a retro homage to that build using a Tamiya M4 as the base…going to keep this simple….yeah right ! #histscalemodels

One 3d printed track for the T-54 completed. Fantastic detail and went together really quick despite having to secure each pin with a tiny spot of gel CA glue with a fine needle point #histscalemodels

I do like WW1 era so, but based on how long it takes me to build models, I should really start this whilst my fingers can still do the rigging…time to research after market turnbuckles (another rabbit hole to run down)…#histscalemodels

Looks like York IPMS model show is being moved into the main T2 Halifax hanger rather one of the other smaller WW2 buildings…perfect backdrop

You can’t have the destruction, mud and barbed wire of WW1 without the colour of Flanders Poppy’s as a counterpoint…happy with this balance especially with it recently being Remeberance Sunday and Armistice Day #histscalemodels

I’m calling this done , there are a couple of figures to paint that but these will have to wait until next week after York IPMS Model Show on Saturday. When I get a moment, I need to get the SLR out and redo these and then photoshop a suitable background #histscalemodels

Ignoring the fact it is still in white primer the barbed wire has been attached to the base. It needs painting in various rust colours tomorrow night and in areas “blending” into the mud #histscalemodels

One week to go and the Whippet is ready for a light mist of matt varnish before final weathering and mud and then adding to the base. Trying to get this done this weekend so I can concentrate on barbed wire, and if time finish the figures #histscalemodels p
