Jimmy Kimmel returned to air on Tuesday saying Donald Trump “tried his best” to cancel him, but instead forced millions of people to watch his show, hitting back against the corporate suspension that ignited a national debate over free speech and outcry over the bullying tactics of the Trump administration.
“It’s been overwhelming” Kimmel said during his first monologue since Disney, which owns ABC, suspended his late-night show from the network last week under pressure from Trump officials over his comments on the shooting of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. “I’ve heard from a lot of people over the last six days, I’ve heard from people all over in the world over the last six days, everyone I have ever met has reached out.” Continue reading...
