Marmot's Spoils is a 10.5% barleywine with coconut and vanilla, a collab between Marlowe Artisan Ales and Horus Ales. Coconut isn't a favorite for me, overall this is delicious. #BeerSky

📚 🦸🏻‍♀️RUTHERFORD COUNTY — “Go and thank your librarian. Absolute heroes.”

Library director Luanne James gets thunderous applause for bravely blowing the whistle on library board director Cody York, the latest front in the right-wing war on books in Tennessee.

The annual Christmas movie discussion/debate has started. It's been pointed out that if you watch Love Actually followed by Die Hard, Alan Rickman pays for breaking Emma Thompson's heart. #FilmSky

Andrew Lloyd Webber's isn't the only Phantom of the Opera musical out there. Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit's Phantom was produced on Broadway back in 1991, I found the cast album in 2000 or '01, and I'm watching the subtitled Korean production on Kanopy streaming. Good stuff. #TheatreIsLife

Some great books and articles on archives and libraries that came out in 2025.

In no specific order.

I love finding good multilingual puns. When I can use one to "get" my dad (he and Uncles are VERY punny) even better.

My housemate is watching the Ken Burns American Revolution documentary, and the musical 1776 is in my head.

If you have access to #PBS and like #Shakespeare then I highly recommend watching Twelfth Night that was filmed in NYC this past summer. #TheatreIsLife

The actual thing that will "dismantle" patriarchy is more or this, more intensely and committed:

MORE MEN SPEAKING ON IT.

Speaking against predators, and predatorial behavior.

More men clocking it, calling it out and stomping it out.

It will ALWAYS be on men to correct other men's behavior.
My teenagers can’t get a ticket to the Running Man remake on their own, but sure, they’re consenting adults when it comes to sex.

A more serious challenge would be to show me one that DOESN'T have that stuff. But why would I watch such a heavily edited version? #Shakespeare #TheatreIsLife #Bawdy

This is the most awesome game I have ever heard of!
There's a card game based on this! It's called Brother, Why? And you play monks in the manuscriptorium who have to justify all the weird marginalia you added to the Bible while drunk. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/44...

I went back to The Patriot (2000) for the recently-late Tcheky Karyo, and I realised something: There's no cunning to this man's hat, nor does it sit well. #FilmSky #Firefly

My classmates thought I was an absolute weirdo for (among other things) reading whole books including ones "above my grade level." More recently I've known kids who were turned off of reading because school forced titles on them that they truly disliked. #BookSky

The loud orange turd has been bragging about acing an "IQ test" where he successfully named one or two animals, and saying Jasime Crockett and AOC couldn't do the same. It's been a while since I took that actual test, but there's more to it and the ladies are far more capable of passing. #Resist

I remember when this came out. Yes, it took me 25 years to watch it, but I don't think I'd have been able to appreciate it as much back then. For instance, I know they definitely filmed a couple scenes in and around the actual Harvard Law Library, though I can't confirm the special archive. #FilmSky
