I finally saw the BW rare Zekrom in person last week and the pictures do not do it justice! I had the impression it was kind of bland, but the texture and shine are so impressive.
I will give them this, though: none of them got into crypto, and their mass extinction event wasn’t a result of them knowingly and aggressively pursuing their own societal and environmental destruction.
Incredible that dinosaurs lived for almost 200 million years and not one of them invented a Nintendo. Sure, the early Triassic guys were probably pretty dumb, but some of them must have smartened up by the Cretaceous.
Oh! Sorry, I realised my reply wasn’t well written, I meant that I’m curious to see what your impressions are of the rest of the series since you started with XIV. I’ve definitely done similar things with other series where I’m figuring out references in reverse.
The second: my thesis performance and defence were largely very negative experiences that made me feel very small, but after the performance Gordon Mumma came up to me and told me he was fascinated by my scoring of the wind instruments & that I’d done things he’d never thought of.
I continue to be hard on myself, but there are two moments that are etched into my brain and my heart. The first was when my piano quartet “Largo” was performed at school, and after the recital another student came up to me and burst into tears.

I played a little bit of XI and XIV but mostly missed out on them so I’m super interested to see what your experience is starting with XIV and then playing the others. I hope you enjoy them!
Also, if these are really for their personal collection, as they claim, and not for selling, what does the grade matter? I grade my cards in my personal collection for preservation and as an aesthetically appealing way of displaying them.
People are hyping up TAG because they use AI to see details that a human grader would miss, and then are getting upset when cards that looked perfect to the human eye come back with 8s and 9s.
Can we stop calling JKR a TERF? She’s not a feminist or radicalised. Let’s workshop some other derogatory terms, like TETOP (Trans Exclusionary Tool of the Patriarchy) or BIGOT (this one isn’t an acronym, it’s just an adjective in all caps).
