Autumn arrives at the Magick House, and the green begins its shift towards gold. Come, take a walk with me. It's a good timeline cleanse.
That feeling when your band has a super catchy new song (that is also about death because it's us so of course it is) and your brain will not. stop. playing. the refrain.

I love this one. It's been my main deck since 2009.
Guess who figured out that they can get from my desk to the divination table today?

She's about to be disappointed. I have back to back clients starting at 2 🤣 #CatSky #PaganSky
When one of the afterlife destinations in your faith path becomes a political football. Words from Benjamin Kowalsky-Grahek, Ryan Smith, Jennifer Snook, and I. Thanks to Heather Greene for her hard work supporting Pagan representation in the news.

Heathens bemoan Patel's 'hypermasculine' Valhalla valedictory to Kirk
(RNS) — Valhalla has a specific meaning to neo-pagans who focus on Norse mythology. But as far-right groups adopt Norse symbols, it can carry darker connotations.

"Following orders" does not mean taking complete leave of your thinking skills.
“ICE agents cannot justify their actions as ‘just following orders,’” writes James C. Harrington, an Episcopal priest in Austin. “Under international law, ‘just following orders’ never justifies being part of the machinery of human rights abuse. Nor is it ever consistent with the Gospel of Jesus.”
Faith leaders should urge ICE agents to quit over human rights abuses

I do a 3:1 white vinegar to water brine with 1/3 cup of salt for each 3 cups of vinegar. I looooove dill, so I also add 1/2 tsp of dill seed and one clove of garlic to each jar. You could totally omit those, though, or swap them for other spices depending on taste.
Continuing to put up summer. Today was pickled hot peppers. These are my favorite topping for burgers and tacos.

I hope you have a good weekend. Out of spite, if necessary.
The first, second, and third sentence of the post are connected :)
(3/3) He was a terrible person. His death was terrible. The ripple effects of it are and will be, likewise, terrible.

And, the approach remains the same: stay connected to community. Remember your self care. Ground/center/shield. Speak out on behalf of the most vulnerable.

Hold the line.
(2/3) You're not a bad person if you're struggling to find sympathy. It just means you have a moral compass and can recognize when someone is in complete violation of anything resembling an ethical life.

The whole situation is terrible...
Two things can be true at once. We can hate gun violence, and not wish it on anyone. And, we can be without sympathy or empathy for someone who used their pulpit and influence to stoke division, glory in the suffering of others, attack our values, and fan the flames of intolerance.

She definitely has a great Manager face. Lol
First day back at work and I'm negotiating with a little furry menace for the return of my laptop. #CatSky
Back from Iceland and glad to be mucking about in the kitchen again. Broccoli cheese (vegan) strudel for lunch. Because wrapping food in phyllo immediately improves said food by a good 50%. I don't make the rules.
Thank you! And yes - I'm every single one of those in-jokes too 🤣
New blog this morning! This is one of my columns for the Frederick News-Post as part of their Words of Faith section. As always, I'm grateful to the FNP for including Pagan clergy in their roster.

GP Day 16: This is the first year the grapevines really went for it (this is primarily just ONE grapevine's fruit) and we harvested slightly over 11 pounds of grapes. I am so grateful and looking forward to turning these into grape preserves 😍
