One of your best. I almost spat out my Weetabix.

It's come to my attention that HMV has loads of Blue Note albums in their 3 for £66 offer. Get thee behind me Satan.

CPR - CPR. David Crosby's late career renaissance really kicked off with this, the first of several albums he recorded with guitarist Jeff Pevar and keyboardist/vocalist James Raymond (Crosby's son). His voice is as good as ever, and the band is superb. He didn't put a foot wrong after this.

Elder - The Gold and Silver Sessions. On this mini album, the band cuts back on the heaviosity and concentrates on the psychedelic jamming. Good stuff.

The Psychedelic Furs - Forever Now. Their excellent third album, full of great songs. Production by Todd Rundgren, backing vocals by Flo and Eddie.

Lloyd McNeill Quartet - Washington Suite. Lovely album, this. Spiritual jazz with McNeill's flute and Eugene Rush's electric piano to the fore. Drummer Eric Gravatt would go on to play with Weather Report.

Branston beans for the win. The best by far.

This and Hissing for me, though I love all her 70s albums.

Last night, I dreamt that Adrian Chiles opened up a record shop on Bromley High Street. There wasn't much stock, and I didn't recognise any of the records. He offered me a cup of tea, but I couldn't stop as I was meeting my wife in Lidl.

Mal Waldron - Mal/2. Excellent hard bop album from the great pianist. John Coltrane and Jackie McLean are amongst the players. Fabulous version of The Way You Look Tonight.

That's the cover I've got, too. Fantastic album whichever way you look at it.
