Looks like there‘s a bug in the Claude app for macOS where Claude fails to activate a skill.

Until this is fixed, here‘s a workaround: unpack the Zip file with your skill (or look for its files in ~/.claude), attach the contents and ask it to activate from there.

Works for me, hope this helps!

TIL: Whisper has a word repetition bug that almost made me give up on local transcription for my YouTube videos.

The fix? One flag:

Stop waiting for permission to do next-level work.

You already have it.

The promotion is just paperwork catching up to what you're already doing.

Here’s an article/video about the mindset shift + tactical playbook based on working 27 years in tech:

I failed at guitar twice due to goals, pressure, homework.

Then I became a musician in 20 min. with a ukulele, thanks to intention, daily play, and fun.

Then again, using synths.

Same dream. Different approach.

Why SMART goals are broken & what works instead:

Weekend experiment: what if I automated my news habit with AI?

Turns out there’s a pattern here that works for way more than just news.

Collect → Filter → Synthesize.

Made me realize: we’re still living in the cat pictures era of AI.

Watching @wernervogels.bsky.social’s re:Invent keynote, I realized: the 5 principles he shared aren’t just for developers. They’re career advice for everyone in 2026.

Curiosity, systems thinking, and why every job is becoming a tech job:

One of the best #productivity hacks I found this year: Perplexity in my terminal.

No more context switching. Just: `pplx "your question"` and get answers fast.

3-min (+6 min examples & pretty formatting) tutorial: youtu.be/Cml_XXQH4-g

Works with everything: code help, weather, you name it!

Congratulations to Mitchell Hashimoto for turning ghostty into a non-profit organization! 👻 🎉

What better way to celebrate than running @awscloud.bsky.social Kiro-CLI 👻 inside ghostty 👻 while listening to "Ghosts’n’Stuff" 👻 by @deadmau5.com and letting it code up something?

If you’re presenting on stage, delete these from your next presentation:

- Agenda slides (boring)
- About Me slides (nobody cares)
- Resources slides (too many options)

Replace with these instead ↓

About thirty years ago, Jerry Shereshewsky invented "Cyber Monday" as an alternative to Black Friday. The idea was that you'd wait until you got to work on Monday after the Thanksgiving break (where there was high speed internet and you wanted to avoid doing drudge work) to do your shopping from your desk. After all, who wants to get trampled at a big box store?

“Claude, pick an expert to help me build this."”

Claude suggested Brian Eno.

Of course it did.

We built a system that generates 70M+ unique image prompt inputs, but without prompting. Each one unrepeatable.

Is the system art? 🎨

My first tech presentation in 1998 was a disaster. 😬

That failure taught me everything about presenting technical ideas clearly.

After years coaching speakers backstage, I wrote down the 7 critical checks that transform boring slides into engaging keynotes.

A deck of cards with QR codes that launch AI mentor conversations?

Yes. @sethgodin.bsky.social did it.
