I find this liberating. I don't want to pressure myself to hit some self-imposed goal if it will lead me to finish books I'm just not feeling at the moment or to rush through books I'm savoring or taking my time with.
Psst: you don't have to set arbitrary numeric goals for your reading life in the new year.
