#PeaceDay is a call to action. 🗣️

25 yrs after #UNSCR1325, women peacebuilders are still underfunded, unrecognized, & at risk.

Our demands:
🔁 Localize peacebuilding
💰 Secure flexible financing
🛡️ Protect women defenders
👩🏽💼 Appoint a feminist woman UN SG

Peace cannot wait. Watch & Repost
‼️ Peace is built, not declared.

This #PeaceDay, we celebrate the women around the world who are building it from the ground up. Their work is essential, yet too often overlooked.

Today, we amplify📣 their voices.

We have empowered young peacebuilders to advocate for the rights of citizens & refugees affected by conflict &militarization,& supported media practitioners who play a vital role in shaping narratives &reaching diverse audiences.🗣️
🤝GNWP has remained steadfast in advancing the #WPS & Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agendas across the region. We have equipped civil society members with training on the WPS agenda and on monitoring and evaluation, while developing practical toolkits to strengthen their work.
The summit also explored the ASEAN Women, Peace and Security Community of Practice, strategies for integrating the WPS agenda into ASEAN Vision 2045 and its three pillars, and marked a milestone for Malaysia with the launch of its first National Action Plan on WPS. 🚺☮️🔑

🎤 Discussions during the 2️⃣-day summit focused on progress in developing & implementing national action plans on Women, Peace & Security (WPS); non-traditional security challenges in the region; and advances in conflict and crisis prevention mechanisms from a WPS perspective.
🟣 GNWP joined the 2nd ASEAN #WomenPeaceSecurity (WPS) Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia🇲🇾 on 9-10 September 2025 — the region’s largest platform for dialogue on peace and security.
📣 True democracy isn't just about ballots. It's building sustainable peace.

And that is impossible without women's full & equal participation.

This #DemocracyDay🗳️, we push for the #WPS agenda as the essential blueprint for a feminist peace. 🕊️ Democracy falters where women are excluded🚫.
We are deeply grateful🙏 to GNWP’s Board of Directors for their invaluable guidance and steadfast commitment to advancing the #WPS and #YPS agendas.
