1) A hallmark-esque christmas movie, but people leave the small town and live it up in the city

A lot of “comics marketing” seems to focus on a “don’t miss out” approach- but I can’t miss out on something I don’t care about. Why not try to get me interested in it first? are they only marketing to people who are already fans? Do they need me as a fan? I’m not sure I need more stuff to read

In movies, there's a big difference between a 'slow burn' and 'dull and uninteresting' and there are so many movies that try to embrace a retro pacing but just get it all wrong because, for some reason, they don't seem to get this difference

lately all my algorithms show me is “look at how great this celebrity who died before their time was.” that, and then wild awful rage bait takes on current events. i guess when you let an algorithm idle for a few months, it just gives up on trying to be interesting
