As someone who fell into the “all Shonen manga in the 60s/70s looked like Tezuka/Ishinomori” trap, reading Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 1 (1968) made me appreciate the sheer variety of styles packed into their first volumes.

I’m having a hard time explaining to people that legitimately licensed Dragon Ball toys that came with gun accessories were actually sold in North America by Irwin Toy back in the day.

Like shit you could pick up at Toys R Us.

I feel like most anything nowadays that releases on vinyl also has a digital counterpart which makes it pretty easy to pirate either way.

I personally think it really comes to:

1. If a person is buying physical, they’re probably a big fan (or old)

2. Vinyl feels more like premium merch than CD

Half of the Yugioh cast are like peak superhuman freaks of nature who can jump out of a mach speed jets, but instead of standing on some Dragon Ball Z shit they decide to settle beef with card games for some reason.
