When I watched season 1 back when it came out, it reminded me of the movie Super 8, a lot of the same vibes to me, and no season after had that same vibe.

Not really because Blade was an established comic character since 1973. You could argue that VtM's immediate success in 91 might have influenced Marvel to make Midnight Sons which brought Blade into prominence the following year. The lawsuit was probably more specific than hidden world of monsters.

The only things I will ever know those movies for is ripping off World of Darkness and more specifically Nancy A. Collins' Sonja Blue novels. The lawsuit was settled out of court though.

The one thing that ticked me off the most was an interview questing beast did with an ex 5e designer who straight up lied and told half truths to make the up coming 2024 edition look bad, when if you've read the phb like I did, you could easily call out the bullshit, with citations to boot.

I think you could argue on spelljammer being pretty light on content, but somepeople didn't like that the rules for spelljammers were pretty light, so they started toting that there were no rules when there was. And people who did play it didn't mind them, even said they worked well in 5e's style.

Like D&D basic-AD&D, 3.5, 4th, and 5th are all similar on the surface, but are much different games, made with different mechanical goals and design philosophies, with things that one version you might like over the other. Hey, news flash, you can have 2 cakes, stop trying to squish the other cake.

I hate how everyone else treats ttrpgs, including older dnd editions and an "us vs them" mentality, how this game is the one true ttrpg experience and everything else is wrong and bad and you should feel bad ans stupid for liking it.

Bob the world builder caring all the positivity and willingness to engage in nuance on his back. He's become the only one I can actually stand to watch because he's like one of the few ones to know that different people like different gameplay styles and play base DnD different from other.

In my experience DnDTubers is *mostly* a fucking hell scape of videos calling every class BROKEN, "the problem with" type video, lies and misinformation about what's actually in the books, and people conflating hyperbolic opinion with fact, and a reluctance to engage with nuance discussion.

Also, there are so many manga and light novels that have finished their runs that had no adaptations or had only one 1 season 13-episode anime made more as an advertisement for the original, that would be prime pickings for new anime. Instead, we get vending machine isekai and maybe a good show or 2

I can say, I have been validated more than once for not keeping up with recent anime releases. Hearing about a show, then it later being described as "Comfortably mid" or "arua & hype moments but no real story", yeah glad I skipped.

I miss when personal computers were new and you got a lot of CYBERVERSE media that was both nakedly trying to teach computer literacy+treating the digital world as this fun parallel reality to our own. We're so understandably cynical about the internet now.
