@cnbc.com is a terrible place for investment advice. Most of the hosts are right wing Trump synchophants. Their average age of their audience is over 90. There is an opportunity for a financial platform to supplant them in the future. Perhaps this year.

My prediction for 2026 is Sam Altman and Mark Zuckerberg will receive a bailout from Trump after spending billions on AI. After taxpayers bail them out, they will reward themselves with big bonuses and rant about socialism.

I spent Christmas surrounded by a bunch of rich people claiming that anyone who doesn't make it is either lazy or stupid. I noted that most of them got rich via inheritance. These are the people Trump and the GOP say have your interests.

The Kennedy Center Honors drew its smallest audience ever this year. The Donald Trump-hosted ceremony averaged an estimated 2.65 million viewers, a large drop from the 4.1 million viewers in 2024. The CBS ceremony saw a 35% drop in ratings, The Independent reports.

The US is a class system that favors the rich. We tell everyone except the wealthy to pick yourself up by your own bootstraps. By contrast, we bail out the rich when they fail. The problem is we use the resources of the non-rich to do this.

With Powell leaving the Fed in the spring and Trump's bullying of the members, they are likely going cut rates at the next meeting. That is a mistake because inflation is going down, but it isn't under control. If inflation isn't tamed, we run the risk of it spiraling out of control.

When Trump says costs are down, he is lying. The inflation number must take in account costs that have risen at any time before. Costs are rising and we know it each time we swipe our debit card at a store.
