These are my favorite Collage Poems from Tony Fitzpatrick’s 3-volume series The Wonder. Sorry I lack the emotional energy to do full-scale alt text. And even the generous character count in alt text would not suffice for these masterpieces.

“Joe Crede of Chicago.” Tony was a devoted White Sox fan, and Crede embodied Tony’s damn-the-torpedoes ethic.

Chicago lost one of its best today. RIP Tony Fitzpatrick. I met Tony through Steve Earle, whose LP covers frequently became canvasses for Fitzpatrick's artwork. Jon Langford & Tony collaborated on a tribute to another one-of-a-kind Chicagoan, Lin Brehmer, at the Hideout in 2023 (pic below). (1/2)

At the end of the summer season Cheltenham Lido drains down the pool and re-fills for winter cold water swimming. But before that, they open it to dogs for the weekend. It's Mabel's favourite day of the year.
