Yes, something of a timepiece which makes it fascinating. Not sure all the broadcasting details are correct, part of the plot revolves around a recorded programme. Wasn't nearly everything live then? But well worth looking out for. My edition was published in 2018 so there may be other copies about.

I've just read this strange, fascinating novel: "A Voice Like Velvet" by Donald Henderson. First published in 1944 as "The Announcer", it's about a BBC announcer who is also a jewel thief. Ideal if you're interested in radio, the BBC & wartime Britain - and for listeners to @bbcentury.bsky.social
