A great time at @planbtheatreco.bsky.social's production of "Just Add Water" about the Great Salt Lake. It's a funny, moving and nuanced play about loving our lake and water demands. Congrats to my old coworker (and brilliant writer) Elaine Jarvik who co-wrote the play with Matthew Ivan Bennett!

A controversial flagpole that was illegally placed atop the historic Black Rock landmark on the Great Salt Lake has been cut down, but not by Utah officials.

US Magnesium, which operates a facility along Utah's Great Salt Lake, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Wednesday.

Ryan Rowland, data chief at the Utah Water Science Center, said the USGS has installed 38 new stream gauges in Utah in the past year.

“So that's about a 25% to 30% increase on our stream gaging network," said Rowland. "Right now, we're pushing about 180 stream gauges in Utah."
