#mathstoday v busy with 3 Maths + 2 Business lessons. Y9 finished off percentage change today and continued the great progress. Started bus stop with year 7, and ended up delving into how to deal with remainders at the end - not something I usually introduce so soon, but they were eager to learn!

#mathstoday very quiet day today with only 2 lessons. Y10 were reintroduced to collecting like terms, which they remembered quite quickly. Y9 are now on percentage change. I’ve changed to using ratio tables and multipliers for this as they are used to using these tables now.

#mathstoday
- year 10 looked at forming expressions
- year 9 double lesson on reverse percentages - used the textbook generator from Mathsbot for fluency questions, before using Corbett and GoTeachMaths for worded questions.
- year 7 looked at the relationship between multiplication and division

#WeeklyWins has to be seeing my year 9s tackling percentage increase/decrease and reverse percentages with multipliers. Some of them arrived in y7 not knowing number bonds to 10 - seeing how far they've come is so rewarding.

#mathstoday multiplying decimals going really well with LPA Y7s. Really proud of Y9 nurture class who did so well with reverse percentages. We used ratio tables w/ multipliers (I’ve done a lot of work on multipliers with them) for this and it worked a treat.

#mathstoday one of those days where I love teaching. I had students from my y9 nurture and y7 LPA groups tell me they love Maths now and find it really interesting. I am pushing them further than I have done with previous groups of similar abilities and they are doing so well.

#mathstoday a day of consolidation with all 3 classes continuing with what we started the previous lesson. Y7 with lattice multiplication (some moved on to 3 digit by 2 digit), Y9 percentage inc/dec with multipliers, Y10 with HCF using prime factorisation. All 3 classes ready to move on tomorrow.

#mathstoday my quietest day of Maths today with more Business than Maths. My year 10 class were finding HCF using prime factorisation. I was really pleased so many had remembered the prime numbers & how to draw the trees. My y10 Business group were working out total costs - so still got Maths in 🙂

Pretty good assessment scores (GCSE questions) for year 10 lower band Entry Level class

Year 9 nurture class, which is very mixed ability, giving percentage increase/decrease a really good go.

Year 7 lower band smashing lattice multiplication in a lesson and a half.

#mathstoday Really enjoying this hashtag, so thought I'd join in. Year 7 lower band class doing lattice multiplication - picked it up really quickly and expressed a preference for it over column.
Year 9 nurture class doing percentage increase/decrease with multipliers.

On a train to London for #mathsconf39 - my second Maths Conf. I learnt loads from my first one, so excited to pick up some new things this weekend. Also joining a Maths Hub work group next week for the first time - an excellent week of Maths COD coming up.

Great day at #mathsconf37 yesterday. Some great workshops (I only wish I could’ve seen more of them) and picked up a lot. Great host school too - lovely building and facilities.
