We’re proud to share the successful completion of 1–11 Portugal Street, Cambridge, delivered through Construction Management for St John's College, Cambridge which has been delivered on time and under budget. This project involved the comprehensive refurbishment of six student accommodation townhouses, transforming interiors from their original early 1900s condition into modern, efficient, and high-performing 21st-century spaces, while carefully preserving the historic façade that defines this iconic Cambridge street. Key Project Highlights: * Full internal strip-out and refurbishment of every room across six properties. * Installation of new stability frames to create a movement joint between new and existing structures — addressing complex ground conditions caused by a peat layer beneath the site. * All buildings achieved air tightness levels below 2 and AECB CarbonLite Retrofit certificate. * Complete M&E renewal, including Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR), and a Building Management System (BMS) for long-term operational efficiency. A sneak peek of the latest progress being made on site in Kirkcaldy🚧 Work is really starting to come along at Templehall Community Hub – where the roofing works are now complete and the external envelope is progressing nicely. Last week, we celebrated the topping out of Wimbourne Street, one of our two projects for London Borough of Hackney's Housing Supply Programme, delivered by Higgins Group. It's just basic science.
