An in-class discussion of this paper in my comparative anatomy class would either be the best idea or the worst idea ever. #anatomy #academicsky #academicfreedom #zoology
Why is the human #penis unusually large compared to other primates? @upama.bsky.social @mikejennions.bsky.social &co show that #genital size is a cue for male-male assessment in humans, so #PenisSize likely evolved due to both female choice & male-male rivalry @plosbiology.org 🧪 plos.io/45tjF33

Why do urban ecology in Atlanta? For one thing, it's much more forested than most other cities >100k population in CONUS, so likely a very different landscape for wildlife. Figure made with Census Bureau and NLCD data. #rstats #opendata #urbanecology

Digitizing P. maniculatus growth data for a class exercise from a paper published in 1942... I'm always fascinated by papers and books published on obscure topics like this during the war. Dice and Bradley 1942, J. Mammalogy. #rstats #biology #mice #academicsky

Vert Zoology lab today is craniometry...students are measuring skulls of mice we collected back in September. One of the coolest labs I've ever run but apparently I'm not the only one who needs reading glasses.
