People who paid pure lip-service to a Royal Commission's findings suggesting we need a Royal Commission.

Glorious. Stick it on the front page.
How about business leaders first institute all the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry?

So the Australian Banking Association and the Insurance Council of Australia want a Royal Commission do they?

Interesting.

Have a quiet think. Let it be a guiding lesson for you

Whatever regretful comments you may have made in your life, whatever actions you wish you could take back, let your benchmark for the lowest of the low be using the deaths of 15 people for the relaunch of your political career

Last week, Gerard Mazza was wrongfully arrested while getting out of bed – proof of Woodside’s power in WA and the farce of policing climate activism.

Tasmania in crisis over billion-dollar AFL stadium
The Tasmanian Liberal government is in crisis and a snap election likely to be called as the premier clings to plans for a stadium that will bankrupt the state.

Some context to Trump's big upcoming announcement on his tremendous UK trade deal...
Trump's "big" trade deal is with the UK:
- It's a framework not a deal
- They're our 11th largest trading partner
- They're only 3% of US trade (97% to go)
- They *already* charge average tariffs of only 1% (limited upside)

It's a photo op, not a macroeconomically significant moment.

One lives on hope. I would like to think I could consider voting for a truly progressive, social reformist government with reinvigorated environmental and climate policies at the next election. Over to you @albo.bsky.social #auspol www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/politic...
Australia rejected the right's agenda, we'll see if Labor do the same
We are about to find out whether the Labor government has the bravery to govern without the approval of right-wingers.

This Parliament has gutted our environment laws to protect an industry selling salmon from diseased pens & sending the Maugean skate extinct.

The policy is highly regressive, and will simply boost house prices and blow a huge hole in the personal income tax base that will never be recovered.
