@aproblemsquared.bsky.social I'm on board with "tweekly" and "twockly", but Matt's UK-influenced Aussie pronunciations of "biannual" and "biennial" sound just about the same to my American-now-living-in-NZ ears. It's comical hearing him say the same word twice claiming he's saying different words.

A year ago, I lost my coding computer to "I don't want to boot anymore". Since then I've been programming on my gaming computer.

I haven't had a woodworking shop in 3 years since moving house.

@12tone.nebula.tv having been in a choir, I agree about the high "ee" sound. My favorite example of doing this well is Flower of Carnage on the Kill Bill (vol 1) soundtrack. It's Japanese, so the pronunciation is critical, and she nails the high note with that vowel sound.

@hankgreen.bsky.social yesterday my wife called me in distress because she had seen video of the public violence that occurred, despite having many filters to prevent those kinds of posts from appearing in her feed. I'm not on social media a lot, so I didn't see it, but she and it kids are.

I just listened to the art vs artist episode, and I can't help think that often their art is an outlet for them to express the values they want to have, but they also have some psychosis that keeps the bad behavior in their lives. It makes me sad for them.

So for Russian, he'd be Aron Aronovich (Арон Аронович). The 'o' is pronounced like in Spanish, like "arroz", and it is the accented syllable.
