The Reclaimer Era never got its conclusion. We never got *our* Halo 3. If Infinite was Halo 7, I’d be a hell of a lot more ok with it. Instead all of us who genuinely enjoyed the decade of stories and actually supported the series got alienated to appease people who had no intention of coming back.

The book had its moments and it was good to get *some* form of closure for the Didact, but it was nowhere near good enough. The original plan for Halo 6 was that the Didact would be revealed to be manipulating Cortana and the Created so he himself could reclaim the Mantle.

Epitaph existed purely to write off the Reclamation, Created, Didact, and Forerunners in general without the storylines ever getting the climax they deserved. Instead, the Didact ALSO had a conversation with Cortana right before she talked to Atriox in infinite and I thought that was just dumb.

But the CE remake actually looks like they’re trying to move forward. They’re bringing in details and mechanics from the later games to make it feel more consistent with the rest of the series. I like that. I know we’ll never get a real Halo 6, but I hope the remake and whatever comes next is good.

The one guy in the video even has a Gen2 Chief logo on his hoodie, despite them saying around Infinite that the design “didn’t fit Halo”

I want to believe again. Infinite was the first time I engaged with halo and didn’t love it. It felt like it was actively throwing everything I liked away.

The new CE remake is the first flicker of genuine hope for the future I’ve felt since the release of Infinite. I want to believe that the developers are moving forward with a story and series that is heartfelt and exciting, just like it was before 2021.

Infinite was made FOR these assholes, and BY these assholes, yet they still didn’t even give that game an honest chance. Infinite flopped and halo was effectively dead for four years. The show sucked. The books since Infinite have sucked.

Infinite killed the series for me and many others who legitimately loved the story that was being told. The culmination of events since the start of the universe was about to be revealed, and instead we got a story where literally everyone but chief is now either dead or missing.

Seeing so much pedantic negativity from halo fans nitpicking the CE remake. They’re mad that there’s sprint. They’re mad that there’s hit markers. They’re mad that they’re both settings you can toggle if you want because they don’t want either thing AT ALL and they’re not happy it’s even a choice.
