Country star George Jones was riding the peak of the charts in 1965 when this LP was issued. However, reaching #1 would elude him beyond this time on solo efforts, but achieve Top 10 on duets with Tammy Wynette. This LP has minimal production therefore it's got a great raw sound to it! #CountrySky

DOLLYs prolly the most iconic country artist ever but I say there's a lack or appreciation for her ALBUMS like #coatofmanycolors for ex is a MF'n GEM front to back.

You know the title track but this LP is all killer and 75% Dolly-penned songs.

I consider "Hank Williams Jr & Friends" Hank 2s debut because it's the first time not singing his daddy's songs (which he was forced to do from an early age).

A true masterpiece of country music but this brand of outlaw? Unmatched. Soulful and beautiful but heavy as hell.

I never knew Lynn Anderson's folks were country singers but it makes sense! She has that genuine country music pedigree! #riderideride is Lynn's debut LP + half original songs which is badass (and unusual) for 1967!

My fav is "Beggars Can't Be Choosers". Smokes!

Recently discovered the excellent JUNIOR BROWN and as you can imagine from his 1993 LP title #GUITwithit he is a double-neck anything-with-strings master picker 🎸

He's got sweet original songs too like "My Wife Thinks Your Dead" & "Party Lights".

THE outlaw-country predecessor to the platinum sellling 1976 "Wanted! The Outlaws" record, is 1973s HONKY TONK HEROES by #waylonjennings

Almost all songs including title track written by the great #billyjoeshaver who hounded Waymore to do it.. and aren't we glad he did.
