A5 specifically naming what my students do well instead of just saying “nice work.” I like to point out a strategy they used and also give practical suggestions they can use moving forward. Overall fostering a classroom that normalizes mistakes as part of learning! #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
A4 I use exit tickets and journal entries (offering multiple ways to show learning helps) as well as allowing corrections and revisions. We also have a growth wall with post its where the kids “post” their small wins related to learning. It is about growing after all #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
A3 focusing on learning goals- pointing out their effort and improvement on their work. Giving productive and very specific feedback on assignments that require multiple revisions and setting aside time to work together to make said revisions #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
A2 We talk about making mistakes and how they are such an important part of learning! I also like to point out to my students when I make a mistake :) It’s also essential to set high expectations for ALL students! #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset#SpEd
The power of yet gives students hope and shifts their mindset from fixed to growth. It helps reframe their thinking from “I’m not good at this” to “I’m still working on it” #altrted#growthmindset
Not having enough resources or time to do what I’d like to do.. having students at so many different levels is challenging. also having to spend my own money for things.. #TeacherEd#SpEd
So many brain breaks! The kids love them! I also allow them to work on the floor, in groups at a table, or standing! Less time sitting at a desk helps! I also have a student who uses earplugs to minimize noise… #TeacherEd#SpEd
Using multi sensory activities- manipulatives, visual aids, and interactive reading lessons are so helpful to reinforce learning and have all students be able to participate #TeacherEd#SpEd
Teach them how to communicate effectively! Practice having conversations/ role playing so they can express their needs clearly and confidently.. also encouraging students to really know their strengths and weaknesses- using self reflection tools to learn about themselves as learners #TeacherEd#SpEd
More collaboration with gen ed teachers and consistency with school policies/ discipline would be helpful! Also more PD opportunities to learn, engage, and unite staff across the board… #TeacherEd#SpEd
