i can not overstate how much i love this.
a dream project of mine is to pick a game and interview EVERYONE in the credits and ask them to describe what they actually did. point to what they're proud of. etc
We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

to reveal how far behind i was: only yesterday did i finish my PCE trawl 😅

yeah i'll cosign this.
"GEMS is a bad driver" is a fun and simple story, but that's smearing a lot of history and details on a quite capable driver
I'm invoking what little clout I have as a prominent uploader and fan of Sega Genesis/Mega Drive music to call upon the community to stop this already. This technically naive bit of misinformation has been bouncing around for decades at this point. (see alt text)

The music for Gigalopolis Zone in 'Sonic Chaos' is different between Master System and Game Gear. Turns out, the Master System version uses the song "Oh Yes!1 (SONG 0)", which is a demo tune from the KORG M1 synthesizer. Here's a comparison of the two.

I'd like to share this old video of hers, where she talks about her time working on the 3DO port of Doom.
it's a wild story that stuck with me, and a reminder that sometimes "bad games" have amazing people working on them

Just an old brief style study trying to make Acid Breaks in FM simulating squelchy distorted 303s. Dated January 2021. God, it didn't even feel like it was that long ago.

NEW MIX!
Yoko Wada was is one of the most prolific and skilled composers that you can find on the 8-bit Sega systems. Unfortunately, that's also the only place you can find her.
I'd like to shine a light on some of the amazing work she did that's gone unnoticed and unloved.
premieres in ~15 min!
