There are similarities, but I'd argue that Catholic "fundamentalists," or integralists, tend to be much more strategic and, in general, brighter. And therefore a greater threat to American democracy.

I admire people who adopt shelter dogs, and my family has done that for years. But I wonder -- do some people get dogs on a whim, lose interest, and figure, "Oh, well. I'll just drop her off at a shelter." In, effect, do we sometimes encourage heartless behavior?
