I read HEAT 2 when it came out and thought it was ok. It's an uncinematic novel. There's too much dense narrative.

Mann has been off the boil as a film-maker for 20 years too.

I would prefer the film not get made. The casting rumours so far are lazy and obvious, like Twitter casting.

The problem with certain movie podcsters is they have become too big. And because they want to be insiders, and get big film-makers as guests, you can't rely on them to be truly objective anymore.

If PTA's new film is DiCaprio's best performance, it makes a mockery of his undeserved Oscar win 10 years ago, an award he won because idiots on social media created the idea he was "overdue" and "it's his time".

Nobody is owed an Oscar. You shouldn't get one just because you're popular.
