Amen! Here is a photo from this summer. A wooden plaque from 1680s in a Reformed church in Switzerland. My ancestor Christian Guengerich donated enough money that his family crest is on the bottom right. He was later kicked out of the country because his kids were rebaptized as Anabaptists.

Volunteers at the Mennonite Central Committee Material Resource Center in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, transform raw materials, donated goods and hours of service into life-saving aid for people facing war, displacement and disaster around the world. Watch here to step inside MCC's relief operations.

This is important, but I question this. "Yet, Mennonites have not deigned to weigh in on the morality of any of these conflicts...." I remember in the 80s/90s lots of comments and calls for peace coming from MCC and other Mennonite-related groups, including denominations.
And this is where we are at folks. #POTUS and his minions are making up things to get his base riled up. And I can tell you, it still works on far too many. factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com....

Some of the more traditionalist groups of Mennonites have created a cottage industry in providing phones and computers that limit web accessibility. They recognize the good in the tools, but fear opening the door to things they prefer not to engage in.
Agree, Unexpected News: Reading the Bible with Third World Eyes by Robert McCaffee Brown had a profound impact on me as I studied International Development back in the late 80s
Oh yes, Amish and plain dressing Mennonites use the train all the time. In fact hardly ever ride without seeing some
Especially since parts of this group were distillers or brewers way back. Look up Henry Oberholzer in 1800s and some of my "Russian Mennonite" ancestors who had special permission from the Czar to brew beer.
I live in the heart of Lancaster County and will attest to the fact not only is there autism but it is treated with modern techniques. I am still pissed at the way the GOP used/uses these groups to get their votes.

To highlight one modern-day partnership, Friends Life Care and Landis Communities (Mennonite Aging Services organization) are working in a Continuing Care at Home effort for those who are aging in place but want to prepare for LTC in the future. You can see more at www.friendslifecare.org/landis

Thought the same. Unfortunately too many folks in my part of the world seemingly are more interested in being "in" with Americanized National Christianity than holding the historic Anabaptist beliefs.
I tried so hard to tell people that this was coming, and believers in nonviolence will not be "in." The reality seems to be that many would rather hold on to being "in" than staying true to what they have claimed to believe IMHO
For 500 years, my faith tradition has posited there is a better, more Christ-honoring way than killing God's creation. His war talk does not change that. It is harder to turn the other cheek!
This is part of rules about sharing information in the most spoken languages. In PA at least, PA Dutch is one of those languages.
My friend created a documentary titled Unexpected Peace. unexpectedpeace.com A Venn diagram between the frostiest receptions and those who have the least knowledge about historical peacemaking and who are Mennonite has a huge middle part where they intersect.

I have to assume this has never happened before for any schoo??? Might this be something to share with ESPN or other outlets?

Before FREE SPEECH: TONGUE SCREW.... A way to silence opponents in the Middle Ages. "Anabaptist Hans Bret's tongue screw was taken from his ashes by another Anabaptist and preserved in the Mennonite church in Amsterdam." Image purchased from the Mennonite Archival Information Database.
I got mine as a 30th birthday present from the church small group.
So, FCC Chair says publicly to ABC about @jimmykimmel.com: “We can do this the easy way or the hard way." Lo and behold #Disney and #ABC bend the knee. Imagine Laugh In doing that, or SNL over the years, or Carson. All skewered presidents.
